What I ate: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Breakfast: Chorizo breakfast burrito with chorizo, onion, green pepper, jalapeño, and egg. Reheat of the filling I cooked Saturday in a freshly heated flour tortilla.

Prepped for lunch and dinner.

Defrosted an English muffin for sausage, egg, and cheese tomorrow.
Divided a loaf of Heidelberg French peasant bread. Individually packaged servings through Tuesday and froze the rest of the loaf.

Prepped, vacuum sealed, and refrigerated jars of spinach. Good until xxx.

Prepped Romaine lettuce.

New bag of baby carrots, good until Monday 2026-02-23.

Prepped celery. Storing it in water and changing it every 4 days worked well. Good until Tuesday 2026-02-24.

Divided a 0.535 lb. (8.5 oz) packaged of cracked pepper deli turkey into 4 servings of around 2.1 oz., vacuum sealed and frozen. Kept on refrigerated for lunch tomorrow.

A lot of compost today, and this didn't count the cabbage that I prepped later.

Refrigerator after today's prep.

Snack: 1.0 oz. Sriracha chex mix. 0.8 oz. peanuts (136 cal). 0.8 oz. cashews (128 cal). Skinny Pop cheddar jalapeño popcorn (140 cal).
Tried freezing cabbage. The internet says to cut, blanch, shock in cold water, then vacuum seal and freeze. Raw cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables like broccoli can't be vacuum sealed raw because they release gases. We'll see how well it works when I try using it later for Turkey and cabbage stir-fry.

I prepped half of the cabbage and refrigerated the other half raw, in a zip-lock bag, which is what I usually do.

Blanched in salted boiling water for 90 seconds.

Shocked in an ice bath.

Vacuum sealed, ready for freeze.

Lunch: Roast beef sandwich. With 2.2 oz. deli roast beef, lettuce, horseradish, and mayo on Heidelberg French peasant bread. Salad with lettuce mix, cucumber, tomato, carrot, celery, green pepper, red onion, and balsamic dressing.

Grilled, vacuum sealed, and froze a package of Johnsonville jalapeño cheddar bratwurst. I used to get these all the time, but I never realized that they are 210 calories, without the bun!

Cooked, vacuum sealed, and froze a package of hot Italian sausage.

Snack: Popcorn, Orville Redenbacher's movie theater butter mini-bag, 42 g, 5 cups, 210 cal.
Dinner: Sukhi's frozen Indian, Butter chicken with naan and tumeric rice. Half a glass of Bota Box sauvignon blanc. I overcooked the naan, but the chicken and rice flavor was good.
